Over seven years ago Beyoncé Knowles-Carter broke the internet and announced she was expecting twins with her husband, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.
Of course, the world has come to know the party of two as Rumi and Sir Carter when they arrived on June 13, 2017. On the twins' 7th birthday here's a flashback to the pregnacy heard around the world and a glimpse into their budding lives.
On Feb. 1, 2017, Beyoncé made her pregnancy announcement on Instagram, showing off her baby bump in front of a beautiful backdrop of flowers.
In the caption she wrote, "We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes."
The post became the most-liked photo of all time on the app in just a matter of hours.

Seven years later, any insight into Rumi and Sir's adorable lifestyle lights up the hearts of fans.
Throughout the years fans have witnessed different facets of the twins — from Beyoncé iconically performing while pregnant with them at the 60th annual Grammy Awards to them making appearances at Super Bowl games and cameos in the "Ya Ya" singer's films.
Beyoncé's mom, Tina Knowles, recently gave an update on how her grandchildren are blossoming and making their own marks on the world. She told E! News, "Rumi is amazing — an amazing artist, painter and creator." And as for Sir, Grandma Knowles said he's "very quiet and very, very smart,” adding that he's good with numbers.
In April, Rumi made history as the youngest female artist to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 after Beyoncé's song "Protector," off "Cowboy Carter," debuted at No. 42 on the streaming, airplay and sales based chart.
By doing so, Rumi broke her sister Blue Ivy's record, who first broke the record in 2019 when she appeared on the song "Brown Skin Girl." Blue Ivy was just 7 years old when the song peaked at No. 76 on the chart.
Blue Ivy still holds the title as the youngest person to ever appear on a Billboard chart due to her feature on her dad Jay Z's 2012 song "Glory."
It certainly seems the twins have a lot to look forward to and promising futures as they already appear to be following in their older sister's footsteps.
Happy birthday, Rumi and Sir!
